Look closely and you will see it: pale grey threading through white porcelain like smoke through winter light, or the quiet veining of marble pulled from deep in the earth. This is agateware, an ancient technique in which differently colored porcelain clays are blended and thrown together on the wheel, their pigments never fully merging, always moving, always distinct.
Each bowl in this collection is wheel-thrown, finished in a soft satin glaze that lets the marbled clay beneath breathe and speak. No two are identical. The swirl that settles at the base of yours will be yours alone.
Wide enough to cradle a generous serving of creamy potato leek soup on a grey autumn afternoon, or to hold a small hill of perfectly dressed farro and roasted vegetables at a dinner table set with intention. Functional, beautiful, and quietly extraordinary.
