28.8 cubic inches

Warm honey and amber tones wash across the surface of this handsome wheel-thrown porcelain urn, the gloss glaze catching light with a luminous depth that shifts from golden ochre at the shoulder to rich tobacco brown at the base. The form is generous and grounded, a full-bellied vessel that speaks quietly of permanence and care. Kathy Cady’s practiced hands have coaxed from the clay a silhouette that feels both ancient and entirely of the moment — round, resolved, and serene.

The fitted lid sits flush and sure, its rim traced with a warm gilt edge that draws the eye upward toward the crown: a polished citrine crystal, raw and radiant, catching whatever light falls upon it and scattering it in soft gold. The crystal knob feels intentional, even spiritual, a small beacon above a vessel meant to hold what matters most.

The glazed surface reveals the subtle memory of the wheel in its gentle undulations, reminding the viewer that human hands shaped every curve. This is not a mass-produced object. It is a made thing, a meaningful thing, built with skill and quiet reverence for the craft.

A fitting resting place, and a lasting work of art.
